EAST SIDE GEORGIAN
This classic Georgian home has undergone two iterations of transformation, each decades apart and through the eyes of two successive homeowners. Our work began with the addition of an in-ground pool, veranda, and bluestone hardscaping. A custom spiral stair complete with a hand-made steel and copper canopy was then added to offer the second floor rooms a connection to the pool and patio. The celebration of details such as square tuscan columns and Chippendale railings were chosen to harmonize with the historic home.
Most recently, the veranda has been enclosed, creating a four season sunroom filled with natural light. A custom copper-clad pyramidal skylight is in the place of the spiral stair. The finished look is clean, taking its cues from the column rhythm, stepped back and wrapping itself around the wood burning fireplace. The project is brimming with details such as hidden soffit and column lighting, custom sapele kitchen window sill, and perfectly integrated radiant heat panels.
The client’s use of color adds a playful edge to this refined design.
